Morgan Lovell hosts breakfast seminar on low carbon workplaces

Low carbon workplaces are the next step in the development of ‘green’ commercial buildings, driven by the Government’s aim to reduce UK carbon emissions by 80% by 2050. But with so many green initiatives, it can be difficult to decide what to do to maximise your return on investment.

Morgan Lovell, one of the UK’s leading office design and fit out companies recognises the benefits sustainability can have on businesses and the environment, having pioneered sustainable office design in the industry. To help organisation’s identify carbon reduction initiatives that make both business and environmental sense, it is hosting a seminar on low carbon workplaces at its London office on Thursday, 26 May 2011.

Morgan Lovell will be joined by guest speaker Katharine Deas, managing director of Low Carbon Workplace Ltd. Katharine will identify the key elements of a low carbon building and discuss the importance of an end-to-end approach in carbon management for commercial buildings. She will also help delegates to wipe through the ‘greenwash’, advising on ways to prioritise carbon reduction measures.

Then, Sophie Hutchinson, Morgan Lovell’s sustainability manager will discuss the carbon reduction opportunities that an office relocation or refurbishment present. She will look at different measures that can be taken in the short, medium and long term in a cost effective way.
