Regional Seminars Make Sustainable Office Interiors Simple

Thursday 18th January 2007

Three forthcoming seminars in March organised by Morgan Lovell, the UK’s leading office interior design specialist, with support from the BIFM, aim to simplify the subject of sustainable office interiors for facilities, property and office managers and financial directors.

The breakfast seminars will be held in London, Birmingham and Bristol, with speakers including Steve Jackson, facilities manager of Herman Miller and Morgan Lovell’s sustainable design consultant, Shaun Baker and environmental manager, Riccardo Rizzi. They will show attendees how to incorporate sustainability in office design, refurbishment or fit out projects.

They will also highlight how to significantly reduce energy costs through sustainability and show examples of companies that have already reaped the benefits of a sustainable office design.

David Henderson, Morgan Lovell’s managing director, says, “Going green makes sound business sense with benefits ranging from increased productivity and efficiency in employees, to savings in energy bills. Generally companies are able to save at least 25 per cent in energy costs after a sustainable office redesign.

“Sustainability isn’t just a matter for environmentalists any more; it has become part of modern ethical business. The seminars aim to give attendees help and step-by-step advice to take back to their workplaces and apply in a practical manner.”

The seminars from 8.30am to 11.00am take place:
• Wednesday 14th March, Radisson SAS Hotel, Birmingham city centre
• Wednesday 21st March, The Lincoln Centre, London, WC2A
• Thursday 29th March, @Bristol, Bristol city centre

The seminars coincide with the launch of Morgan Lovell’s new sustainable office design service. As part of the new offering, the company’s team of BREEAM¹ and LEED² trained designers advise clients on all elements of sustainable office interior design. This includes ‘green’ office building assessments, sourcing and using sustainable materials, space planning which exploits natural daylight and air, the use of energy efficient technology and carbon neutral refurbishment.  Comprehensive checklists are provided to ensure fit out or refurbishment aspects are all considered with a focus on sustainability.
