Case Study: Aston Villa FC

We’ve completed two projects for Aston Villa football club. In the first we converted executive boxes in the north stand into offices for the Human Resources department, and the second was the design and fit out of the boardroom and executive lounge. Although the two projects were very different, we were given the same brief for each one: to create a traditional space which would emphasise and draw attention to the building’s Victorian architecture.

In the HR offices, we introduced Victorian style skirting, door and window fittings. And in the boardroom and executive lounge, we installed a solid oak floor and wooden panelling on the walls. We even managed to salvage some of the stain glass from the original 1900s stadium to use in the restaurant area, along with a bespoke marble top for the bar.

We also made sure our designs didn’t ignore the club’s sporting side. At Aston Villa’s request, we built a trophy cupboard to display all their cups, and we incorporated their club colours throughout – on chairs, individual wall and even on desk dividers.
