Plans for a £12 million refit of Cornwall Council's head offices in Camborne, Truro and Bodmin have been given the go-ahead.
The BBC reported the office refurbishment programme will aim to create space to expand each of the sites, with staff levels rising at Camborne from 320 to 600 and at Truro from 680 to 1,050.
Stuart Roden, of the union Unison, told BBC News: "We always knew that there would be a reduction in council offices.
"Some are well past their sell-by date so if services are improved then we support it."
Elsewhere, Property Week recently reported Liverpool FC is to move its main offices to new premises at Rumford Investments' 20 Chapel Street building in Liverpool city centre.
The club is taking on 30,000 sq ft of office space at the building, which is to be used to house the team's administrative staff and is spread out over the first and second floors of the property.
