An office refurbishment project believed to cost in the region of £1 million is set to take place in Darlington at a property that is currently disused.
Beaumont House in Beaumont Street is to become the new headquarters of sub-sea engineering, technology and investment business Tompkins UK and is expected to see all office construction work completed by Christmas.
Simon Crowe, director of Niven Architects, said: "The refurbishment of the Beaumont Building will, we hope, be a catalyst for transforming this important part of the town centre."
Meanwhile, a new five-storey building containing 63,000 sq ft of office interior space is set to be constructed in the region.
The new Cobalt Park in North Shields has the potential to create an additional 700 jobs in the area and will provide a significant boost to the attractiveness of the borough as a business destination, Mayor of North Tyneside Linda Arkley added.
