One of the largest commercial developments in the UK will see its plans submitted for approval today (October 4th).
The £5.5 billion Liverpool Waters development is the sister project to the £4.5 billion Wirral Waterfront project which recently received local planning consent.
Designed to help regenerate the Liverpool area, Liverpool Waters includes the creation of the new 55-storey Shanghai Tower, as well as 14,000 residential apartments and thousands of sq ft of new office interior space.
Councillor Joe Anderson, leader of Liverpool City Council, said: "Liverpool Waters is a hugely ambitious and exciting scheme which has the potential to bring about the transformation of an area which has been in need of regeneration for decades."
Elsewhere, the Independent recently reported a new £200 million fund has been created by Grosvenor to capitalise on properties in need of office refurbishment in London.
According to the company, there is presently more than 40 million sq ft of office space in the capital that could be refurbished.
