The Greenhouse in Leeds has become a popular sustainable office design centre in recent months and the property has now reached 70 per cent occupancy, it has been revealed.
Offering 60 per cent cheaper energy bills to its tenants than many other developments in the city, the Greenhouse was opened last year and offers 15,000 sq ft of office interior space in total.
The project saw the refurbishment of a 1930s hostel to create a sleek, modern office building, the site's developer Citu has stated.
Citu director Chris Thompson said: "Sustainability is the blood that runs through Greenhouse, it's what sets it apart and businesses based there appreciate the building lives and breathes sustainability."
Alex Randall, spokesman for the Centre for Alternative Technology, also recently added that UK consumers want to see businesses taking action on green issues rather than simply talking about doing so.
He argued measures such as recycling and emissions reduction are the key to helping firms get ahead in terms of sustainability.
