Five new Action Plans have been launched at the Building Environment Solutions Technology event in Birmingham that aim to help the construction sector embrace sustainable office design in the future.

These new plans are designed to help the construction sector cut back on material wastage and include practical recommendations, actions and targets to improve performance.

Lord Henley stated: "The plans are the result of extensive debate and collaboration and will help us achieve the overarching objective of leading the world in sustainable construction, production and consumption."

The first two plans have been developed using the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs' roadmap process, while the final three were produced as part of the construction industry's Strategy for Sustainable Construction.

Meanwhile, Morgan Lovell is holding a seminar designed to highlight the benefits of sustainable office design to its clients at a meeting next month.

Taking place at Charles Darwin House in London on November 16th from 08:30 to 10:30 GMT, it will examine the role BREEAM can play in making older buildings suitable for a greener future.
