BBC offices 'ahead of schedule'

New office space for the BBC which is been constructed at MediaCityUK in Manchester is proceeding ahead of schedule, it has been revealed.
Property Week reported developer Peel is set to complete office construction work on the first three buildings for the broadcaster this month.
"We have embarked on an ambitious programme but, with Salford Quays ahead of schedule and under budget, the benefits that will be delivered alongside it are huge," commented BBC head of property Chris Kane.
MediaCityUK is to benefit from a range of green initiatives to help boost sustainability at the property, including the use of water recycling from the Manchester Ship Canal - returning the water to the canal actually cleaner than when it was removed.
Furthermore, the development plans to use a tri-generation power system to provide energy for all heating and cooling at the premises in order to further reduce its environmental impact.
