The BBC's office move to new premises in Salford was recently found to have come in almost £80 million under budget.
A report by the National Audit Office (NAO) revealed the broadcaster's office relocation to MediaCityUK - which is due to be completed by December next year - will cost approximately £800 million, £76 million less than was originally forecast.
The premises will house approximately 2,500 staff from five divisions of the organisation, including Radio Five Live, BBC Childrens' TV and BBC Sport.
"For Salford Quays, the BBC established the financial contingency through an analysis of the probability and likely cost impact of the risks occurring," the NAO report added.
Elsewhere, Nottingham-based law firm Richard Nelson has announced plans to open a new office in Manchester.
The company has taken on office space at Argent's Three Piccadilly Place in the centre of city, with an initial three members of staff set to move to the property to get the operation up and running.
