A panel at the recent British Council of Offices (BCO) annual conference highlighted the need for office design in the workplace.
The industry experts stated that promoting interaction in the workplace should play a key role in any office design project and this should incorporate greater flexibility for mobile working and the use of new tools, such as BlackBerrys.
Roger Zogolovitch, director of planning and development consultancy AZ Urban Studio, told Property Week: "You need to find a corporate environment in which you can maintain creativity."
He added, however, that present building regulations can often make this difficult to achieve.
The BCO is committed to researching and promoting the best practices for the developments of the office sector in the UK. It was established in 1990 and has regional chapters in Scotland, the north, the Midlands, the south-west and Wales.
