Office construction plans at the Arena Central development in Birmingham have been amended to include additional office space, it has been revealed.
Planning consent was originally received for the delivery of 500,000 sq ft of office space at the site, but planners have now upped this limit to 800,000 sq ft for the developer.
Jonathan Wallis, director of the firm behind the project, said: "We estimate that the additional 300,000 sq ft of offices will generate over 2,000 office based jobs in the coming years."
Elsewhere in Birmingham, Nottingham-based recruitment firm Bluesource recently announced the opening of a new office at 102 Colmore Row in the city centre.
The premises are situated in a grade II-listed building and the firm will establish its first hub in the West Midlands at the site, with company owner Andrew Springhall noting that Birmingham has always been an important area for the business to expand into.
