Birmingham office relocation for Highways Agency

Office design news from Morgan Lovell

Around half of the office space available at the Cube commercial property development in Birmingham is being used by a government organisation.

The Highways Agency - which is a division of the Department for Transport and maintains and oversees the UK's road network - relocated from the Five Ways business district and is the first tenant of the building.

Once fully occupied, approximately 3,000 individuals will use office interiors within the structure, the BBC reports.

According to the news provider, the Cube had been beset by financial problems earlier in the year, leading it to go into administration before a last-minute funding package was found to ensure construction was able to continue.

Commenting on the project, PricewaterhouseCoopers administrator Matthew Hammond said: "The key thing for us in the first month was getting everybody back on board and getting the good will of sub-contractors back in place to complete the build."
