Talbot Gateway - a 24.7-acre site in central Blackpool - is to become a shining light of modern office development in the north-west.
Construction firm Muse Developments has signed an agreement with Blackpool council for the construction of 1.7 million sq ft of new office interior space at the site.
Furthermore, the plans include the construction of new law courts, divisional police headquarter buildings, a health centre and a new library, with the total cost of the project believed to be £220 million.
Muse regional director Mike Horner said: "Talbot Gateway is an exciting scheme for Blackpool - it is much needed and will provide the town with a vibrant new civic focus."
Elsewhere in the north-west town, Forsyth Business Centres is to undergo an office refurbishment of its own in the near future.
Kevin McCabe's Scarborough Group International has been granted permission to carry out the work, which once completed will offer an additional 11,000 sq ft of office space across the building's three floors.
