BSkyB opens Stockport office

BskyB has announced the opening of a new call centre in Stockport.

The company has signed a lease for 23,500 sq ft of modern office design space at St Peter's Square in the city centre to house up to 550 members of staff at the Stockport development.

Owned by BAM Properties, the building was completed in June last year and received a BREEAM rating of Excellent. In total, the property offers 51,402 sq ft of office space, with over half still currently available to rent.

Neil Mort, development manager of Salford-based BAM Properties, said: "It's a great start to 2010 and we are actively working with Sky to complete the opening of its customer service centre. We are further encouraged by the level of interest in the remaining accommodation."

BSkyB plans to open its new office in June.

The company's head office is located in Osterley, but it currently also operates out of Dunfermline, Livingston, Udddingston, Leeds, Manchester, Harrogate, Dublin, Shepton Mallet, Slough, Chilworth and three offices in central London.
