Built in Quality awards winners announced in Manchester

Manchester city council has unveiled this year's winners of the Built in Quality design and construction awards 2009.

Crain's Manchester Business has reported that the awards recognise quality design and construction for commercial and residential buildings throughout the north-west area and had over 2,600 entrants this year.

The winners included Allied London Properties Management, for the five-storey office, retail and leisure building at 2 Spinningfields Square and Town Centre Securities, for the alterations and extension to a warehouse to form offices at Carvers Warehouse, Dale Street, in Manchester.

Other victors on the night were West Properties UK for Best Partnership with a Contractor and Blue Sky Architects for Best Partnership with an Architect.

Meanwhile, sustainable office design company Morgan Lovell was recently shortlisted for a design award for the refurbishing of its London headquarters in Noel Street, Soho.

Sustain Magazine highlighted the firm's green office interior as a major step forward in sustainable design for UK companies.
