Bupa is on the lookout for new offices in the North West as its lease on the office complex at Salford Quays - where more than 1,000 staff are based - is due to expire in 2015.
The healthcare insurance company wants to obtain secure accommodation which provides a better working environment than the current regional headquarters at the Anchorage and Harbour City buildings.
Roger White, director of Bupa Group Property, said with most of Bupa’s lease arrangements in Salford expiring in 2015, it was looking at a range of options to provide the best interior for its employees,
However, it was committed to maintaining and growing operations in Greater Manchester where it had enjoyed a presence for more than 20 years, he said.
Bupa now occupies 80,000 square feet of office space at the Anchorage development where its building was refurbished at a cost of £3.5 million to create an efficient working environment for call centre staff.
It involved a mixture of Western design philosophies with the Chinese principle of Feng Shui.
