Bury 'to receive new office space'

A new office layout is to be at the heart of a multimillion pound development in Greater Manchester, it has been revealed.The news comes after a joint venture by Ask Developments and Bury council was given the green light to construct office and hotel space for the Townside development close to the town hall, which will incorporate 20,000 sq ft of office space, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Overall, the scheme is worth some £80 million and will also include a 110-bedroom hotel which has been pre-let to Whitbread to create a Premier Inn branch, in addition to a restaurant and a Costa Coffee outlet.
At present Ask is in legal negotiations with an occupier for the office layout.
Meanwhile, construction on the first part of the scheme has already gotten underway which will see a 50,000 sq ft centre built for Bury Primary Care Trust, with Bury council set to benefit from a 40,000 sq ft building which will be located adjacent to the town hall.
In other office fit out news in the region, it was recently revealed that IBM is to relocate into refurbished office space at the Jackson House building in Sale, south Manchester.
