Business school looks forward to office relocation
02-04-2008
One major institution has welcomed the start of a project in Newcastle that will end in its office relocation to Downing Plaza.Work has commenced to demolish the Scottish & Newcastle Brewery in the city centre, soon to be replaced by new office designs, some of which are to be tenanted by the Newcastle University Business School.
Professor John Leopold, acting director of the school, remarks: "Our relocation to such a prestigious building is a mark of just one of the great things in the pipeline for Newcastle University Business School as we move forward into the future."
The scheme reflects the largest planning application lodged in the city since 1973, according to the Chronicle.
While the business school is a major tenant, 100,000 sq ft of commercial space on the development remains available to the market.
Earlier this week, Choregus reported that eight new buildings are set to be built in Newcastle's Longbenton area to provide increased office space in the city.
