A 42-storey tower block just south of Canary Wharf is to benefit from a number of sustainable practices, it has been revealed.
Sustainable building website New Builder has reported that the project has been designed to be in line with London mayor Boris Johnson's Energy Hierarchy, to 'be lean', 'be green' and to 'be clean'.
Biomass boilers at the property will help to reduce carbon emissions by 14 per cent, while a combined heat and power plant will help to reduce emissions by a further 12 per cent.
Mervyn Clarke, project director at Angel Group - the designers of the building - said: "We are genuinely proud of what the company has created and hope to see our proposals approved very soon."
In related news, Global Action Plan held a seminar this morning (November 17th) at the offices of Morgan Lovell in London on the impact of recent alterations to guidelines on greenhouse gas emissions by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
