CIT Group heads office interior hunt

Office design news from Morgan Lovell

Published on 14-01-2010

CIT Group is leading the pack in attempting to purchase King's Tower in central London.

The property, which is presently owned by Simon Halabi-linked companies, was designed by Richard Seifert in the 1970s and is situated on the south bank of the River Thames.

It is currently in high demand, with bids to be in the region of £50 million being tabled for the development.

The three-acre site has approved planning permission for the construction of an additional 40,000 sq ft of modern office design space and any deal which is likely to take place is presently being brokered by Mr Halabi's letting agent CB Richard Ellis.

Elsewhere in the capital, GE recently announced plans to move to new premises at The Ark in Hammersmith.

The company plans to move into 100,000 sq ft of office space at the site after a deal was brokered by property agents Knight Frank and CB Richard Ellis.
