Organisations that are hoping to get the best out of their staff members may need to consider their current design set-up.
This is the opinion of Bonnie Alter, writing for Discovery Communications, who stated research has proven well-planned office interiors are "more conducive to productivity".
According to Ms Alter, one of the best ways to add vitality to employees is to ensure there are sufficient plants and open windows in working environments.
She added: "Somehow we didn't need scientists to tell us that there is a link between flowers, plants, a pleasant environment and workplace satisfaction."
Listed among the benefits of more shrubbery in the office were lower heating and building costs due to higher humidity and increased levels of innovative thinking.
Writing for the Daily Loaf, Lisa Assetta recently highlighted the importance of creating an organised working space, noting that it will boost productivity and wellbeing while carrying out duties.
