New Co-op headquarters plans will help regenerate 20 acres of Manchester city centre.
The company recently submitted a planning application for a new 16-storey, 320,000 sq ft office development in Manchester city centre.
As part of these modern office designs, the firm has now revealed that it plans to create a 20-acre public area, complete with green spaces and parks to benefit the local community.
Peter Marks, Co-operative's group chief executive, said: "The new building will be good for our business, good for our staff, good for the communities which surround it and good for Manchester."
If planning permission is granted, the company hopes to have new the office interior up and running by mid-2012.
Elsewhere in the city, Crain's Manchester Business recently reported that grade A office interior building One First Street - located in the city centre - has been awarded a BREEAM rating of "Excellent" following its completion.
