The new £2.5 billion Business Growth Fund could have a significant impact on office design and expansion for firms across the UK, it has been revealed.
Stephen Welton, chief executive of the Business Growth Fund, told listeners to the recent BBC Wake Up to Money podcast that the fund is being targeted at companies with turnovers of approximately £10 million and will be looking to invest up to £2 million into each of these companies currently operating in the UK.
"It will give them the confidence to look at longer-term expansion plans, which is something the economy needs and those smaller companies we feel absolutely need," he commented.
Brian Berry, director of external affairs at the Federation of Master Builders, recently noted that a recovery in the UK's office construction sector is vital to long-term financial stability in the economy.
He added, however, that developers need greater confidence that investment will be forthcoming if they are to help get the UK back on track in terms of office construction.
