Companies 'should consult staff on office redesign'

Businesses hoping to upgrade their commercial working environments may be well advised to carry out research among staff members.
This is according to the Financial Times, which said there is often a conflict between form and function when it comes to an office design and build.
The news provider used the Commerzbank Tower in Germany as a good example of where consulting with employees enabled the organisation to create a happier workplace.
"After conducting research among staff, the bank built the tower around garden atria that let in natural light," it went on to say.
Commenting on the office design and build of Germany's tallest building, Commerzbank's head of organisation Arno Walter stated: "We looked at how we could make working more attractive."
Writing for Simply Business, Josh Hall explained earlier this week that office design can have a direct impact on the wellbeing, health and morale of a firm's personnel.
