Construction on Manchester office begins
12-05-2008
Work on a 13-storey office layout has started in Manchester, it has been revealed.Located within Green Quarter district, the City Park building will stand at 77.5 m high and will be the seventh-tallest office building in the north-west city.
Featuring 175,000 sq ft of office space, the facility will also incorporate four floors of parking and three floors of plant, Crain's Manchester Business reports.
With the plant floors clad in a Kalwall screen, the building will overlook a new public square.
Acting as the new headquarters of Manchester businessmen Fred and Peter Done's business interests - which include bookmakers' chain BetFred, Rainy City Properties and employment law advisory firm Peninsula Business Services - the building is set for completion in the latter stages of 2009.
Meanwhile, the office design will have glazed curtain walling with white glass panels.
Last week, the Bank of New York Mellon revealed that it is to expand the amount of office interior space it has in Manchester as it looks to take up 50,000 sq ft of office layout in the Spinningfields part of the city.
