A new office interior complex in Cornwall is nearing completion following the first phase of development which got underway last year.

Cornwall Seaway News has reported that the new multi-million pound development called Dominion Place is on schedule for completion later this year with occupancy starting some time in 2010.

It is to benefit from a number of sustainable design features which will provide the finished structure with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design -LEED - accreditation as a sustainable office building.

Ron Chenier, owner of the site, commented: "All foundations and pilings are in place ... the cement work is pretty well done and services are in.

"It'll come out of the ground now pretty quickly."

Meanwhile, Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling announced a £1 billion fund for promoting sustainable design in the UK as part of his Budget on Wednesday (April 22nd).

The Chancellor noted that this boost to sustainable construction will help pave the way for greener office interiors in the future and help the UK reduce its overall carbon footprint.
