Wyre Forest District Council is preparing to announce the project management and design team for the refurbishment of its new offices.
Local publication the Kidderminster Shuttle has reported that the council decided last year to consolidate its premises to a single office and has allocated £10.5 million to purchase the building and carry out all necessary design and office fit-out work.
A council report stated: "Award of this contract is an important element in securing office accommodation on a single site.
"The proposed arrangements for award of the contract ensure that it will be let swiftly."
A final decision on the site and contractors is set to be announced by the end of next month.
Elsewhere, Southampton City Council recently announced the purchase of a new dedicated office building in the city centre.
The council paid £25 million for 1 Guildhall Square. Local government workers now plan to relocate to the site upon completion of the refurb of the property.
