Council office relocation meeting poorly attended

A meeting to discuss proposed council office relocation plans in Gravenhurst was poorly attended due to a mix up over its announcement last week.
Local paper the Gravenhurst Banner reported that both local councillors and many members of the public were unaware that a meeting had been scheduled to take place last Wednesday (October 21st) and as such, many did not show up.
"The intention of this kick-off meeting was to bring council up to date on where the process is. We sent [the architect] away to come back with numbers. We will have more get-togethers and it's probably worthy of a few more special meetings," local mayor John Klinck told the publication.
Elsewhere, local newspaper the Leicester Mercury recently reported that plans by local council officials to carry out an office relocation project for its head offices were branded a "waste of money" by opposition parties.
The council moved into its present accommodation two years ago and council members feel there is no need to carry out the move at the present time.
