West Dorset District Council is holding a poll to discover whether there is public support for its plans to carry out a £10.7 million office relocation.
The Dorchester Echo reported that local residents will be able to go to the polling stations in the region between 16:00 and 21:00 BST today (April 22nd) and give their opinion as to whether they think the proposed plans should go ahead.
Poll proposer Sarah Wilkinson told the publication: "We've got this democratic process taking place in Dorchester for the first time.
"People have been given a chance to say whether they agree with it or not."
Meanwhile, the Kidderminster Shuttle recently reported that Wyre Forest District Council is to move into new premises as part of a £105 million consolidation of its offices in the area.
The council announced that it will be revealing which company has been awarded the fit-out contract for its new premises at the end of the month.
