'Demand for quality office design' in Newcastle

'Demand for quality office design' in Newcastle Supply shortages in Newcastle are leading to a growth in demand for quality office design in the north east city, according to industry experts.

At the moment there are reported to be just 50,000 square feet of Grade A office space in Newcastle and competition among firms looking to snap up quality office interiors is fierce.

To meet the demand a number of new developments are in the pipeline, including the Quorum Business Park in Longbenton and the East Quay 5 development close to the Quayside.

The latter, from developer Argon Properties, will boast 35,000 square feet of office space over five storeys and should be ready by the autumn.

Meanwhile the Longbenton development, completion of which is scheduled for 2012, will house number of new office blocks ranging from 30,000 to 100,000 square feet in size.

According to local newspaper the Journal companies in Newcastle are still demanding commercial interior design of the highest standard despite the current economic difficulties.

Indeed, it claims there are no signs of a slowdown this year and the city is expected to remain one of the most sought after in the UK in terms of top quality office design.ADNFCR-8000187-ID-18572578-ADNFCR
