Wilmslow-based Northern Point Developments has purchased a former convent in Crewe that it hopes to transform into new office space.
In total, the National Offender Management Service building on Delamere Street will provide 3,751 sq ft of office interior space once renovated, Crain's Manchester Business reports.
The deal was brokered by the Manchester office of Colliers International between the building's former owner the Home Office and Northern Point.
Richard Roberts at Colliers International said: "We were delighted to achieve a sale to give the building a new lease of life in what remains a difficult market."
Elsewhere in the region, Peel Group recently announced it has completed office fit-out work at one of its developments in Liverpool.
The firm has completed 14,200 sq ft of space at Building 12 of the Princes Dock development - a site overlooking the Mersey and next to the proposed £5.5 billion Liverpool Waters scheme.
