Devon 'has need for new office space'

03-12-2008

Devon may be set to benefit from a new office interior, it has been suggested.

In a feasibility study report conducted by planners and development economists Tym and Partners, it was indicated that the launch of a business development unit in Seaton will act as a "business catalyst" for the seaside town.

It was reported that there is a particular need for office space in the area due to its high proportion of home-based organisations and employees, the Midweek Herald reports.

Meanwhile, it was claimed that the new office space should provide a variety of services including marketing support, business start-up advice and virtual office facilities.

The report stated: "Our preferred option is a mixed provision of offices and workshops ... this combination may help to achieve full occupancy quicker, resulting in healthier cash flows."

Furthermore, the study indciated that there are currently no facilities for start-up businesses in Seaton, with an industrial site on Harepath Road put forward as a possible location for such a workspace.
