New office construction work is getting underway in Doncaster, it has been revealed.
The new civic offices have seen the first bucket of soil shifted and JCBs have moved in to start clearing the site, prompting the start of office construction work at the heart of the city.
Mayor Peter Davies attended the ground-breaking ceremony for the project and said that the new development will hopefully attract new businesses and shoppers to the city centre, providing a significant boost to retail and business in the coming years.
He noted: "This is a historic moment for a town with a long and distinguished history. Today is the start of a new chapter for Doncaster."
Elsewhere in the region, Compco Fire Systems recently announced an office relocation to new premises in Leeds city centre.
The firm has taken on 1,181 sq ft of office interior space at Centre 27 Business Park and signed a five-year lease for the premises, with the deal being brokered by Jones Lang LaSalle.
