The Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) is to benefit from the construction of 20,000 sq ft of new conference and office interior space, it has been revealed.
Property Week has reported that the £85 million extension to the facilities have been given planning permission by local council officials, who are keen to see the centre fulfil its full potential as an international venue for business.
EICC board member and leader of the City of Edinburgh council, councillor Jenny Dawe told the publication: "Extra space at the EICC is essential for Edinburgh to retain and enhance its business tourism reputation and to bring more world-class conferences and events to the city."
Meanwhile, Scottish Architecture recently reported that a new sustainable design paper has been launched in the country which aims to promote green building practices for new commercial properties - such as office interior spaces - and residential buildings.
