Almost two thirds of office staff leave their personal gadgets at home when they go to work, according to a new survey.
Some 63% of people said they never use their own devices at the office, with around one in five saying their firm has banned them from doing so.
But 81% of employees said they have no need to take their own devices into work.
The research found that mobile phones are the most popular personal devices used in the office environment, with 29% of people saying they take their handset into work.
Only 15% said they use their own laptop at work while just 3% use a tablet PC, suggesting that some office interiors may not be equipped to support advances in technology.
The survey of 1,200 workers was compiled by YouGov for Casio Projectors.
Casio said firms should ensure that their IT systems are able to support new types of technology.
But the group added that office equipment is often chosen and supported by central management, meaning that firms are still opting for cheaper and more traditionally reliable technology.
