Environmentally-aware buildings 'important' to workers Office staff view sustainability as a key issue in their workplace, according to a recent survey.

Research by Colliers International suggested that 90 per cent of respondents agreed that it was important for developers and landlords to make a shift towards environmentally-aware structures.

Some 94 per cent of participants in the study also stated they believed sustainability to be an important facet of good business practices.

Vice-president of research at Colliers International Carolyn Lane commented: "Our experience has shown that high-performance green buildings and commercial interiors can be cost-effective, increase employee comfort, retention and recruitment and attract new business."

Nancy Searchfield of Colliers International stated that the survey will be helpful for building owners to better understand the expectations of their staff.
