European road freight service provider Freightex has announced plans open a new office interior in Manchester.
Setting up this new office space was the perfect solution to the firm's problem of running empty vehicles through the north of England, according chief executive officer of the company Tim Phillips.
He noted: "Particularly for UK hauliers, empty running from the continent is just a prohibitively expensive option, so it makes sense to try to find a backload."
Mr Phillips added the company has seen a 20 per cent rise in transport volumes in the last year.
The firm already operates modern office design space in Birmingham, London and Dover, from which it transports its payloads throughout the UK and the rest of Europe.
Elsewhere, Manchester-based telecoms business Unicom recently announced an office refurbishment programme at its headquarters on Leestone Road.
The company is creating an additional 5,000 sq ft of modern office design space at the premises as part of ongoing expansion plans.
