A new office in Gateshead is to be built on the set of the 1971 film Get Carter, which starred Michael Caine and Britt Ekland.
The development is to take place on a multi-storey car park in Gateshead centre that featured in the film and will form part of the Trinity Square regeneration scheme for the city.
Overall, 45 new office interior units will be created as part of the development, as well as a 900-berth student village, new parking complex and a brand new Tesco store.
"In its place, Trinity Square will be a major investment into Gateshead that will create hundreds of new jobs and a town centre people can be proud of," commented councillor Mick Henry, leader of Gateshead council.
Elsewhere, Walsall Housing Group recently announced the construction of a new £6.5 million town centre office.
Plans for the development were given a BREEAM rating of Excellent and when finished, the project will deliver an additional 4,000 sq ft of grade A office space for the town.
