Internet giant Google has developed an innovative approach to office design at its engineering centre in Zurich.
The EMEA Engineering Hub is billed as a lively, flexible workspace and it contains a number of unusual design ideas inspired by staff.
The site features personal workspaces resembling living areas and informal lounge-like meeting rooms, part of a creative office environment designed to stimulate discussion.
When staff want to move between floors, they can use fireman poles and slides - with the fastest slide leading all the way to the cafeteria.
There are also a number of different communal rooms scattered throughout the building. While some are quiet spaces for employees to clear their minds and focus on new ideas, there are also several games rooms to help staff relax.
Some 800 staff - known as ’Zooglers’ - are employed at the site, which is the group’s largest engineering centre outside its US headquarters at Mountain View in California.
