The government has revealed it will encourage more office development projects to take place.
Yesterday (March 23rd 2011), chancellor George Osborne announced intentions to focus on promoting growth when he revealed the Budget.
This included plans on boosting construction projects, which is likely to be of interest to those with office design jobs.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) has welcomed the move, saying: "Measures to help land, property and construction will be essential to drive the economic recovery and make it sustainable in the long term."
In addition to this, the British Property Federation has shown its support for the government's property agenda, saying its simplification of planning rules for example went beyond industry expectations.
However, a spokesperson for Rics added that some of its proposals may not result in significant benefits in the long run, noting that the government needs to ensure an adequate supply of commercial property such as office spaces to enable small businesses to grow.
