The South West Regional Development Agency has provided a £5 million grant to get construction work underway at SPark science park at Emerson Green near Bristol.
Property Week reported development company Quintain is carrying out the office construction work and aims to create up to 70,000 sq ft of new office space at the site, spread out over two buildings.
Tonianne Dwyer, head of fund management at Quintain, said: "The funding means that we can finally get on site - and we are thrilled to be getting on with this. We have already had an enormous amount of interest from occupiers at the park."
Elsewhere, insurance firm Canada Life recently put forward plans for the creation of two new office buildings in Bristol.
The £10 million office construction scheme will create up to 56,000 sq ft of new office space at the Aztec West Business Park if given the all clear by local planners. It is hoped that once completed, the office space will achieve a BREEAM rating of Very Good.
