G.Park Blue UK's first Outstanding BREEAM development

G.Park Blue in north Staffordshire has become the first development in the UK to be awarded a BREEAM rating of "Outstanding".

It has been predicted that the environmentally-friendly improvements to the site will bring about annual cost savings of more than £300,000.

The 35,500 sq m development scored above the 85 per cent threshold for an "Outstanding" site and has been heralded as a benchmark for future green office design.

Paul Gibbon, director of sustainability at BRE Global, commented: "This development scored very highly in all sections of BREEAM and achieved exemplary credits in the key areas of daylighting, reduced CO2 emissions, construction waste management and use of low carbon technologies."

Meanwhile, sustainable office design company Morgan Lovell recently announced the completion of the refit of Stiefel Laboratories' head offices.

The 38,000 sq ft office interiorproject was finished in just 19 weeks and received a BREEAM rating of "Excellent".
