Green light for Woking office construction

A new 2,500 sq ft office building is set to be built in Woking following approval from local planners.
The new six-storey project is set to embrace sustainable office construction methods, as it will be clad with Fibre C panels in order to improve energy efficiency and to help it blend in with the surrounding properties, while a smaller three-storey extension will house additional offices and residential space.
Natasha Chibireva, associate director at the facility's developer, said: "The building signals arrival into the town centre where its uncompromisingly modernist appearance stands out yet remains sympathetic to the surrounding, largely 1980s office developments."
Meanwhile, Brian Berry, director of external affairs at the Federation of Master Builders, recently stated that the UK office construction sector is continuing to face difficulties as a result of the after-effects of the economic downturn.
He argued that many projects have been put on hold due to the impact of incoming government austerity measures.
