The Home Office has signed a 25-year lease for office space at Birchwood Park in Warrington.
The government department is taking on 55,000 sq ft of modern office design space at the development and will be used as a regional hub of operations.
However, the ministry has in total signed a lease for 157,000 sq ft of office space, with the majority of this to be taken up in CDP's 100 Birchwood Corporate building.
Simon Marshall, managing director of CDP, noted the Homes and Communities Agency and Warrington Borough Council each helped make the move a reality.
Elsewhere in the region, property consultant Drivers Jonas and architect Bennetts Associates recently put forward plans to council officials in Manchester for the creation of a 5,000 sq ft office centre near Piccadilly station.
If given the green light, the site could soon become the home of new regional government offices.
