The Kings Place office development in London's King's Cross has been awarded the best of the year award by the British Council for Offices' (BCO) at its annual awards ceremony.
Facets of the modern office design space which drew particularly praise were the building's use of sustainable materials in its construction and its commitment to helping other local businesses regenerate the area.
John Forrester, chairman of the BCO awards, said: "This year's best of the best is a project which changes the art of the possible. Once every decade or so a building comes along which alters the common understanding of what is commercially possible."
Meanwhile, Darren Johnson, chair of the London Assembly, recently stated the capital is one of the best cities in the world in which to do business and as such offers some of the most innovative and practical office interior spaces in the world.
He praised developers for the uptake of modern office design principles after London was voted the best city in which to do business in this year's European Cities Monitor.
