Global consumables manufacturer Kraft Food has announced plans to open a new UK headquarters.
The firm is to build a new modern office design building in Bournville, the home of Cadbury. It is to make the new facility the centre of its global research and development plans and also looks to create a worldwide Centre of Excellence at the site.
Nick Bunker, president of Kraft Foods UK & Ireland, said: "The UK is one of the company's most important markets. Kraft Foods has been here for more than 85 years and Cadbury, of course, was founded here."
Kraft recently completed the takeover of Cadbury and now plans to move from its present UK base at Cheltenham upon completion of this new office construction project.
In total, four offices across the UK will merge in this new facility, with staff hoping to be fully in residence at the new premises in, at most,18 months.
