A partner working on the construction of the so-called 'Walkie Talkie' skyscraper in the south-east is to be named this month.
The Telegraph reports that Land Securities will shortly name the developer that is set to help the company complete its new 660,000 sq ft office space in London, situated on Fenchurch Street.
Despite a rivalry between the developer and Canary Wharf Group, it is suspected that they are working together on this project with an aim to finish the building by 2014. The tough economic conditions have made it increasingly difficult for developers to find sufficient funding, leading to growth in the number of joint ventures.
As well as creating new office space, the facility is also set to house 23,000 sq ft of retail property.
Property Week recently reported that investor DTZ has purchased the leasehold of the 65,000 sq ft Etoile Building in London's West End for £31 million.
