Kirkstall Forge - a new development in Leeds - has been awarded a BREEAM rating of Excellent due to the attention to sustainability in its construction.
Owned by Commercial Estates Group, the project includes 300,000 sq ft of office space and is to benefit from the building of a new railway station in order to provide excellent rail links with Leeds city centre and the rest of the UK.
Anne Staton, Leeds City Council's business investment manager, said: "Kirkstall Forge is a major development, which will be served by excellent transport links, and has the potential to attract significant inward investment to the city."
The project has benefited form the use of floor-to-ceiling glazing in order to maximise the amount of natural light allowed into the premises.
In addition, the developer noted the building has achieved an energy performance certificate rating of A and will also benefit from integrated solar panelling in order to reduce energy costs and emissions.
