Leeds office design plans get go-ahead

Wilton Developments has received the green light for the construction of a new office building in Leeds city centre.

Property Week reported the £10 million office design project at 10 South Parade will provide 36,000 sq ft of office space when completed and will should be fully up and running by autumn this year.

Agents for the development include DTZ, Knight Frank and WSB Property Consultants.

The regeneration scheme reflects the commitment of Wilton to provide modern, commercial property in the city, according to Jason Stowe, managing director at Wilton Developments.

Robin Beagley of WSB said: "This is a significant landmark development for Leeds and is a reflection that we are starting to see signs of improvement in sentiment from businesses in the city."

Elsewhere, insurance firm Aviva recently announced the purchase of 110,000 sq ft of office space at Broadcasting Place in Leeds.

The company has bought the building for £37.7 million from Liverpool-based property group Downing and it is pre-let on a 22-year lease to Leeds Metropolitan University.
